NOTE:  My father was a staff photographer for MGM for many years prior to moving into an executive position. One of his responsibilities was to take photographs at "Grand" and other movie Openings on Broadway (NYC) and elsewhere. During those years, Openings of movies attracted huge crowds and literally caused traffic to come to a standstill. Dads dilemma was how to get negatives to the major newspapers prior to the evening deadline so the photographs could appear in the next day's edition. SOLUTION: Dad hired ambulances.
