Other types of digital camera support devices

  • Monopod - consists of a single, telescoping leg. Ideal for sports and similar events where you wish to shoot over people's heads, or where setting up a tripod is impractical. Also great for backpackers and hikers.
     

  • Trekking staff
    A walking "stick" that converts into tripod for securing a camera, binocular or small scope to it. A tripod adapter may be needed for use with binoculars.
     

  • Pod (beanbag) mount -  beanbag supports camera on the ground, vehicle or table-top. Has a screw thread for securing a camera or camcorder.
